I was commissioned by Adobe Stock 🇺🇸 at the end of 2022 to create a collection of inclusive illustrations (a total of 375 assets), exploring themes such as women empowerment, cultural diversity, healing and mindfulness.
My project “The Best Version of Me/You” consists of three parts, the first two celebrate the charm of multi-ethnic women at different moments in their lives and how they cherish small things with joy and affection. I want to truly capture their kindness, inner beauty and elegance. I believe women can support and heal each other by showing compassion and giving back to their communities, together we can do bigger things such as protecting and restoring nature.
I've added a taste of heritage to the last part of the collection, a personal and nostalgic touch to reconnect with my identity. You'll catch me eating a Hong Kong-style sausage bun in my kindergarten uniform or daydreaming with some goldfish on a hot summer afternoon. These are the fun things I remember so well outside the intense amount of schoolwork and exams. Spending my childhood in Hong Kong was pure bliss and a unique experience. The more I think about it now, it's quite important to preserve these tangible memories, cultures & languages.
